Moscow Domodedovo Airport opens Terminal 2 with 13,150sq m of commercial space

Inside the new Moscow Domodedovo Airport Terminal 2, which features a large retail and food & beverage offer

RUSSIA. Moscow Domodedovo Airport has officially opened its new 240,000sq m Terminal 2, which has served its first international flights. T2, built at a cost of 42 billion rubles (US$462.1 million), takes the airport’s total passenger capacity to more than 60 million annually.

A key architectural element of the seven-floor T2 is a central atrium (pictured below). It features business lounges, cafés, bars, restaurants and duty free shops. T2’s commercial area covers 13,150sq m.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport Director Andrey Pavlov said: “The opening of T2 is a significant event not only in the history of Domodedovo Airport but also of domestic civil aviation. I want to thank everyone who participated in the implementation of this important project.

“I would like to say a special thank you to the airlines and passengers. By their choice, they inspired us to create and implement this unique project.”

With the opening of T2, Moscow Domodedovo Airport now has an air harbour of almost 500,000sq m. ✈
