MSX wins contract to supply two new brands to entire P&O fleet

UK. P&O Cruises has selected MSX to supply two new drinks across its fleet of eight liners.

The selection of the UK company follows a trial onboard P&O Britannia earlier this year, and includes Sharp’s Brewery’s Doom Bar, from Cornwall, and Orchard Pig, a farm-pressed cider from Somerset.

MSX began supplying Britannia six months ago, serving a few hundred cases of Doom Bar and Orchard Pig to P&O’s newest and biggest ship. Following its appointment across the P&O fleet, the company has increased its supply to “many thousands” of cases.

MSX Managing Director Nicola Ridges-Jones said: “Supplying to cruise ships is a specialist job, with the turnaround times at port being so tight, but we have built a real specialism in this over the last 41 years and we’re proud that our previous work for P&O Britannia has resulted in us being appointed.”

A selection of British beers and gins was supplied by MSX into P&O Britannia including Langley’s No.8 Gin, Tanqueray, Hendrick’s, Old Thumper and Titanic Quarter Beer. The 3,647 capacity ship, which set sail on her maiden voyage on 14 March, features 27 places to eat and drink.

P&O says its fleet has a total passenger capacity of 14,970 and owns a 5% share of all cruise lines worldwide.
