OMAN. Munich Airport operator FMG has been awarded a new four-and-a-half year contract for the commissioning, relocation and operation of two airports in the Sultanate of Oman.
FMG emerged with the winning bid from a large field of competitors to gain the largest consulting contract in the company’s history. FMG’s consulting team will begin work in Oman in November 2010.

Plans at Muscat Airport include a new terminal building, a tower and a new runway to increase the airport’s capacity from 4 million to 12 million passengers per year.
In Salalah a new terminal is planned, to handle 1 million passengers per year, and the runway will be extended.
