Muscat Duty Free executives hand over the keys to the winner of the latest car draw |
OMAN. Muscat Duty Free held the latest edition of its Dream Car Draw on 6 November, with an American woman capturing the top prize of a Mercedes Benz C250 Coupe.
The winning ticket (chosen from 1,200 in the draw) belonged to Lois Pigg who had recently visited Oman. She also previously lived there for five years.
The draw was attended by senior management from the retailer, from Oman Sales Company and Saeed Sulaiyem Saeed Al Kindi of the Department of Commercial Affairs.
The car will be freighted to Abu Dhabi for collection. Ms Pigg’s husband, Jeffrey, said on the telephone: “She had been planning on buying a new car upon returning to the US. But not in her wildest dreams had she bargained for a luxury Mercedes sports car and certainly not from Oman.”
She bought the ticket after celebrating the 2012 New Year at the Intercontinental Hotel with her family.
Muscat Duty Free General Manager Tom Byrne said: “Lois may never get to meet the passenger who picked her lucky number. But I am sure that, whenever she gets behind the wheel of her Mercedes C250 AMG, she will always think of beautiful Oman first, and all her friends who live here.”
