Nemiroff named most valuable Ukrainian brand

Brand leader: Ukrainian Honey Pepper and Ukrainian Birch vodka are among the Nemiroff brand portfolio


UKRAINE. Nemiroff has been named the most valuable Ukrainian brand, according to the UkrBrand-2010 – Top 100 Ukrainian Brands rating prepared by the MPP Consulting Agency. The experts estimated the brand’s value at US$404 million.

In 2010, the MPP Consulting Agency launched a full-scale Ukrainian brand rating project. Under this project, the UkrBrand-2010 rating was prepared in a Top 100 format for the first time. Between 2007 and 2009 it was known as the Top-50.

The main goal of the rating is to determine the 100 most valued Ukrainian brands and assess their market value. The UkrBrand-2010 – Top 100 Ukrainian Brands includes only brands created in Ukraine and/or for Ukrainian products, independent of their popularity in the international markets.

The experts assessed the value of the trademarks based on financial performance and market and industry conditions. The brand value calculation method was based on factors such as: the company’s position in the market, brand value for the customer, and brand development.

Assessing Ukrainian brands, the experts were guided by the results of analysis of the most successful companies from 20 Ukrainian industries. This year, compared to last year’s rating figures, the value of the Nemiroff brand has strengthened by US$79 million.

Said MPP Consulting Agency expert Pavel Melnik: “The Nemiroff brand took first place this year in the UkrBrand -Top 100 Ukrainian Brands yearly rating and has been maintaining such a result for the third year in a row. This brand has been steadily increasing its value year by year, and today it is the most valued brand not only in the alcohol industry, but also among all Ukrainian brands.

“Nemiroff has a high potential for an increase in both the value and cost of the brand, which must provide [the impetus] for maintaining its leading position in the year to come,” he added.

Commenting on the reasons for the brand’s success, Nemiroff Company President and Chairman of the Board of Directors Alexander Glus said: “Nemiroff is a Ukrainian brand. Although it has acquired an international status a long time ago, the brand’s home will always be Nemirov town in Vinnitsa Oblast, which is known worldwide now. For years, the Nemiroff International Brand has been holding strong leading positions both in the Ukrainian and world alcohol markets. The secret of the company’s success and brand’s popularity is simple – for as long as 18 years, we have been adhering to a standing rule: the quality of our products must be perfect and permanent.”

Following the 2009 results, the output of Nemiroff brand products amounted to 8.2 million decalitres of drinks, exceeding the 2008 result by +6.5%. The Nemiroff Holding significantly increased its sales volumes in the key liquor markets, in Ukraine, Russia and Poland. In Poland, +17% more products were sold compared to last year’s figure. Sales in the Ukrainian market grew by +10.5%, reaching 4.4 million decalitres or 1.34 billion UAH (+30% compared to the 2008 result). Growth of the Nemiroff Company product sales in Russia amounted to +7.2 % (3 million decalitres).
