New Beurer device gets to the heart of the matter in Cannes

German health and wellbeing specialist Beurer has created a new mobile device that displays a patient’s cardiac rhythm at the click of a button. The product will be shown at the 2012 TFWA World Exhibition in October (Stand number: Yellow Village C34).

The hand-held ME80 device ascertains the body’s cardiac rhythm at the click of a button, providing feedback if aberrations from a healthy ECG [cardiac ultrasound scan] have been registered. To gain a more precise evaluation and a detailed presentation of the data gathered by the device, the ME80 is simply plugged into the user’s PC via an integrated USB plug.

Thanks to the device’s accompanying software, the results recorded can be visually charted and printed out for later consultation with the patient’s doctor.

In addition, the ME80 is said to stand out due to its usability. Patients with high blood pressure, high cholesterol readings, above-average consumption of tobacco and alcohol, weight problems or a sedentary lifestyle can monitor their cardiac rhythm independent of their doctor using the device.

Those with a family history of cardiac illness and those who have already experienced heart attacks or strokes are also advised to use the device.

Further novelties exhibited at the Cannes show will be the PM 90 heart rate monitor, BC 58 digital blood pressure monitor and LS 10 digital luggage scales.
