“New level of stakeholder interaction”: JFK Airport’s Terminal 4 launches new website

USA. Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport has expanded its digital presence with the launch of a new website.

The new site, created by Ronik Design, includes information for passengers, meeters and greeters, staff and the community. Innovative new features include an interactive terminal map and up-to-the-minute security and taxi wait times. There are also pages dedicated to New York City landmarks and events and an extensive FAQ section.

In 2016, Terminal 4 became the first terminal in the New York area to brand itself. This brand served as the foundation for the new website design, which includes a modern and open typeface.

JFKIAT President and CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff said: “Our digital strategy was developed with the goal of providing a stress-free travel experience for our passengers. We noticed a need for personal connectivity and the T4 website takes digital design and passenger experience to the next level by delivering essential travel information in real time, directly to the user’s fingertips.”

Terminal 4’s website won a Webby Award in Communications Arts Magazine’s Interactive Annual Competition. This recognises outstanding interactive website designs that utilise web browser-based technologies. In recognition of the win, Terminal 4’s website will be featured in the winner’s gallery on the Communication Arts website, as well as in the printed issue of the magazine in March.

Terminal 4’s website also received a Highly Commended recognition in the ‘Best Airport Website’ category in The Moodie Davitt Report’s social and digital media awards, The Moodies.

The Terminal is also now active on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.
