Bang on: the new men’s fragrance from Marc Jacobs


INTERNATIONAL. Coty has unveiled a new men’s fragrance from designer Marc Jacobs – his first masculine scent in almost a decade. Marc Jacobs Bang will begin its worldwide roll-out this autumn.

The fragrance concept is described as a dynamic balance of modern sophistication and Jacobs’ trademark irony and irreverence.

The juice, composed by Givaudan’s Yann Vasnier, in collaboration with Ann Gottlieb, is confident, sensual and full of power, according to the brand.

The scent opens with an “explosive threesome” of black, pink and white peppercorns, with a woody heart and base. Key ingredients include elemi resinoid, benzoin, vetiver, white moss and patchouli.

The faceted flacon is rectangular in shape, with a bold silver and black colour scheme. The classic shape is given an original twist by the “impact” effect at its core, marked by the debossed Bang logo. The outer carton features a complementary black/silver colour scheme.

For the first time, Jacobs features in his own advertising campaign. The designer shows off his provocative side with a daring visual that depicts him lying naked on a bed of shiny fabric, covered only by an oversized Bang fragrance bottle.

Marc Jacobs Bang will be available as a 50ml and 100ml edt spray, a 150ml after shave balm, a 200ml hair and body wash and a 75g deo stick.
