Airport management and the McDonald’s operating team at the opening |
USA. A new McDonald’s at Portland International Airport, operated by local business owners Mike and Roxanne Kennedy, officially opened on 11 October.
The operators were originally McDonald’s staff and worked their way up to become local owner-operators of 11 restaurants in the Portland area. Around 60 people are employed at the new facility.
“We are excited to celebrate the opening of this restaurant, providing fresh, great-tasting food for the entire airport and traveling community,” said Mike Kennedy. “We are extremely proud of all the local accomplishments and look forward to serving PDX travellers and employees.”
“This dynamic, global brand managed by local owner-operators Mike and Roxanne Kennedy is an excellent addition to the unique blend of local and national products and services that make traveling to Portland more enjoyable,” said Vince Granato, Chief Operating Officer for the Port of Portland.
Active military personnel will receive a US$1 small coffee and -20% discount all day every day at the outlet. In addition, there will be a variety of prize giveaways throughout the month of October, including a Dr. Pepper-sponsored draw for a Camcorder.
