US. William Grant & Sons Global Travel Retail has partnered with International Shoppes to feature the first US installation of its Glenfiddich Crystal Stag Gondola at JFK International Airport Terminal 8.
The Stag was unveiled on 26 April by William Grant & Sons Regional Director North America Stephen Corrigan in the presence of International Shoppes Vice President Scott Halpern.
“William Grant & Sons has a long-standing excellent relationship with International Shoppes and working with them as our strategic partner in this project was a natural choice,” said Corrigan.
“International Shoppes places a great deal of emphasis on luxury, and that applies more and more to the spirits category. The Glenfiddich Crystal Stag Gondola represents the epitome of luxury in spirits retailing,” he added.

The JFK T8 Glenfiddich Crystal Stag project continues William Grant & Sons’ strategic investment in the Glenfiddich brand, and exemplifies its stronger focus on the Americas travel retail market, said the brand owner. “We see increased opportunities and untapped potential for our entire brand portfolio, and Glenfiddich in particular, in the Americas,” said Corrigan.
The new look and feel of Glenfiddich was created to bring to life the pioneering spirit that lies at the core of everything that Glenfiddich stands for, according to the company. In 2010, three Crystal Stag Gondolas were placed in travel retail locations around the globe: World Duty Free London Heathrow T5, Frankfurt Terminal 1B Schengen, and Dubai Duty Free T3.
With a passenger profile deemed as most appropriate to the brand, New York JFK’s American Airlines Terminal 8 was chosen for the fourth Glenfiddich Crystal Stag. In addition to key international passengers, strategically important US domestic passengers also travel through this terminal. The Glenfiddich JFK project helps to underpin the focus on Glenfiddich in the US domestic market by allowing all travellers to encounter the true premium Glenfiddich experience, the company added.

International Shoppes’ Halpern stated: “We are delighted to be the first US retailer to feature the impressive Glenfiddich Crystal Stag Gondola in our shop. It’s a great initiative by William Grant & Sons, and helps us to reinforce our strong partnership with American Airlines Terminal 8 by strengthening our premium retail offering. Equally as important we are able to bring a unique experience to the customers departing through JFK’s T8.”
Along with offering an extensive range of Glenfiddich products (12yo, Rich Oak 14yo, 15yo, 18yo, 21yo, and 30yo), International Shoppes will also be the first retailer in the US to list the latest Glenfiddich release from William Grant & Sons: Glenfiddich Age of Discovery.
Glenfiddich Age of Discovery is the 19yo travel retail exclusive aimed at gifters and whisky connoisseurs. This Madeira Finish Single Malt uses casks sourced from Henrique and Henrique, an independent Madeira company. It was designed to celebrate the pioneering nature of the 15th Century Portuguese merchants who were at the vanguard of finding new trading routes into Asia and who started to map the world.
