US. Watch supplier Nike Timing has revealed its new chronograph collections, to be shown alongside Nike Vision’s sunglasses collection at the TFWA show in Cannes (Stand number: Blue Village H3).

All are tailored to a specific sports activity such as athletics, adventure racing, running and dance fitness, and all are designed to look good away from the pitch or the gym.

The Mettle Collection: The Mettle from Nike Timing is a collection of sports watches “that could do it all” – rugged, robust and stylish at play or at work.

It comprises five chronograph models: Nike Sledge, Nike Hammer, Nike Ratchet, Nike Press and Nike Blade.

All models feature large electro-luminiscent buttons, bolted serviceable straps, strap keepers that snap securely in place, raised bezel sides that protect the mineral glass crystal watch face, “˜hard’ and “˜easy’ timers, and 100m water resistance.

Nike Press and Nike Ratchet are encased in solid titanium. Nike Sledge and Hammer are available in stainless steel cases, and Nike Press in aluminium.

All models offer one-touch backlighting, time, date, two alarms and time zones, and also two-segment interval timer with effort indicator.

The Merge Collection: The Merge Collection is inspired by the world of fitness dance. The water-resistant band of each model is designed for maximum comfort and flexibility.

The layered leather topside is detailed with rich patterns and is laser-etched for a modern twist. The low-profile closure prevents the strap from catching on anything. They are equally at home inside or outside the studio.

The Merge watches come in five styles: Merge Transit, Merge Attract, Merge Step, Merge Uplift and Merge Lift.

The silhouette was inspired by the wide cuffs worn by dancers. The numbers for the digital display were designed with dots to add a feminine touch.

The chronograph collection is 50m water resistant, and features mineral glass crystal, one-piece hinged buckle, one-touch backlighting, stainless-steel buckle and back plate, with time, date, alarm, two time zones and two-segment interval timer.

The Oregon Series Alti-Compass: An authentic outdoor timepiece designed for adventure racers, this 1,000 hour chronograph with data recall features an altimeter, a thermometer, a barometer and a compass.

The solid aluminum case is tough enough to endure extreme outdoor weather. The hydration alarm reminds the racer to drink, while the weather mode shows barometric pressure patterns.

Other features include 100m water resistance, two-colour compass and timer display, four time alarms, two altitude alarms, one hydration alarm, battery hatch on back plate, and time and date display.

Imara Spin and Imara Soar: The new additions to the Imara Collection of women watches come in stainless-steel case. It is aimed at women who want beauty, fit and function in a sport watch that can be worn all day long. The design is simple and the functionality uncomplicated, says Nike.

Both models are 50m water resistant, and come with mineral glass crystal, pre-curved polyurethane strap, stainless-steel buckle and back plate and stainless-steel case. Imara Soar features time, date and chronograph.

The Triax Speed Collection: The first watch Nike made was a Triax watch, designed for dedicated runners. It was innovative because of the S-shape that curved around the wrist.

With “˜Target Time’, goal times can be entered and progress can be tracked while training or racing. The convertible display gives large views of total time, lap time, or a large look at both with the push of a button.

Triax Speed watches are available in three styles: Triax Speed 50, Triax Speed 100 and Triax Speed 300. The models are 100m water resistance. Features also include one-touch backlighting, hardened aluminium case, data mode and five-segment interval timer.

Retail prices range from about US$59 for the Nike Blade model to US$149 for the Nike Ratchet.
