Noida International Airport emerging as Asia’s largest, says Indian Civil Aviation Minister

INDIA. Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, is set to commence regular operations by the end of April.

Yamuna International Airport Private Limited – a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International – is responsible for the vast new hub’s development, construction and operations.

In response to questions raised in the Rajya Sabha (the Council of States), Minister of Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu highlighted the airport’s importance in enhancing global connectivity.

As quoted by The Economic Times, Naidu said: “Jewar (Noida) Airport is emerging as the country’s, and Asia’s, biggest airport. We conducted the validation flight in December at the airport.

“Everything is going according to the timeline. In the month of April, we will see regular operations starting from Jewar–Noida International Airport.”

He emphasised that airlines such as Air India and IndiGo are eager to enhance global connectivity from this new hub.
