Nordrest reveals Little Italy by Pontus Frithiof restaurant at Stockholm Arlanda Airport

SWEDEN. Nordrest and renowned Swedish chef and restaurateur Pontus Frithiof have extended their partnership with a new dining venture at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

Little Italy by Pontus Frithiof, operated by Nordrest, has been unveiled in Terminal 5’s Marketplace.

This is the second travel location from the partnership, following, as reported, the opening of fine dining venue La Girafe by Pontus Frithiof at the airport earlier this year.

The new F&B concept’s staple offer is pizza, pasta and burgers. Breakfast dishes also appear on the menu, along with charcuterie-filled bread rolls, salads and Italian-style pastries.

All meals and snacks can be consumed in the restaurant’s extensive seating area or taken away by customers.

Stockholm Arlanda Airport operator Swedavia noted the food at Little Italy by Pontus Frithiof is prepared on site by experienced chefs, who aim to serve up the dishes within 5–7 minutes.

Swedavia said the restaurant has a broad target group and offers something for both the business traveller and friend groups and, in particular, families with children “who are looking to begin their journey with a high-quality, relaxed alternative”.

Nordrest CEO and Founder Thomas Dahlstedt and Frithiof, Owner and Founder of the Pontus Group, have worked closely together since 2015.

The forms of cooperation have varied over time, but in recent years a franchise arrangement has been in place, with Nordrest as operator and Frithiof as concept and menu creator.

Swedavia Chief Commercial Officer Charlotte Ljunggren said: “We are delighted to welcome Little Italy by Pontus Frithiof to the Marketplace, as it brings even greater variety to the food range we offer to our passengers.

“In developing the commercial offering at Arlanda, we have listened to our passengers and one of the things they have asked for is a broad range of restaurants offering flavours from all over the world and meeting different needs.

“Passengers should be able to sit and eat in an inspiring environment, but also have the option of choosing something from a grab and go range to take with them on their journey. Whatever our passengers prefer, or their wallets allow, we always strive to provide good quality and a strong feeling of value for money. Little Italy ticks so many of these boxes.”
