Nuance brings first Wiggles store to Sydney Airport – 16/09/09

AUSTRALIA. The Nuance Group Australia and Sydney Airport Corporation today announced a new retail concept to be launched at Sydney International Airport in November.

Featuring children’s music group The Wiggles, the store will showcase merchandise in a format that captures the vibrancy and fun of what Nuance described as “Australia’s most loved entertainers”.

The 80sq m Wiggles store at Sydney Airport will feature entertainment, toys and games, homewares, stationery, clothing and fashion accessories

The 80sq m Wiggles Store will be located in the new Departures Precinct (after Customs) of Sydney’s International Terminal.

“The store will be a highlight of the international travel experience for any pre-schooler as well as an excellent location for their families to buy treats for the plane or gifts for those back home,” Nuance said.

The range will include entertainment, toys and games, homewares, books, stationery, clothing and fashion accessories, all at tax-free prices.

The Wiggles Managing Director Mike Conway said: “The Wiggles Store is the first of its kind in the world. We’re thrilled to be able to offer a one-stop-shop for parents and children to purchase the latest Wiggles products, watch Wiggles DVDs on plasma televisions and enjoy a truly Wiggles experience at Sydney Airport. I’m sure parents will be just as excited as their children.”

The Nuance Group Sydney Airport Director David Odgers commented: “This is a fabulous and innovative retail offer. We are excited and proud to bring this unique concept to Sydney Airport which we are sure will be a big hit with customers.”

Sydney Airport General Manager for Retail Derek Larsen added: “We are pleased to add the world’s first Wiggles Store to Sydney Airport as part of the International Terminal redevelopment.

“The children’s market is often overlooked by airports but we recognise and value all of our travelling customers, even the very little ones. The Wiggles are one of Australia’s most unique and recognisable entertainment brands and will be a wonderful addition to the Sydney Airport travel experience.”

NOTE: Derek Larsen will be one of the main speakers at next week’s Trinity Forum in Macau. Click here for latest programme and registration details.
