SWITZERLAND. The Nuance Group has opened a new store concept for sunglasses at Zürich Airport, named “˜Sun Catcher’. The store lies in 89sq m of space on Level 2 of the Airside Centre. It follows last month’s opening of two new walk-through duty free stores across 2,000sq m at the Swiss airport.

The Nuance Group Commercial Director (Europe) Alex Anson-Esparza said: “The debut of “˜Sun Catcher reaffirms our commitment to evolving and developing our store portfolio at this key location, and further strengthens our speciality offer in Europe. This is just one of several new formats we will launch in 2012 to showcase those products that form an important part of our business.”

The concept is said to feature “a striking geometric-style interior reminiscent of the angles of the sun’s rays, which has been designed to present more than 700 skus to full effect”. Products throughout the store are segmented to help customers identify specific brands and special features, as well as best sellers and new items, with promotions and gifting ideas presented on dedicated furniture.

“The addition of this latest store to our extensive retail offer at Zürich enables us to continue to deliver an enjoyable and attractive shopping environment for our customers. Combined with our other recent developments, it ensures we are better able cater to the growing needs and demands of travellers using this airport in the years to come,” added Karl Walter, The Nuance Group’s General Manager for Zürich Airport.

In addition to the new walk-through stores in Departures, in the past year Nuance has also launched the first Arrivals duty free stores at Zürich (and Geneva), and introduced new concepts for Lindt, Swarovski and Bally/Burberry.

Besides the rollout of the “˜Sun Catcher’ concept, in the coming months Nuance will launch a number of new developments. This includes a new walk-through duty free store and four new specialty stores (Ralph Lauren, Montblanc, Ferragamo and Ermenegildo Zegna) at Lisbon Airport, the refurbishment of Antalya T2, as well expanding the Zürich duty free offer by a further 600sq m, adding luxury beauty boutiques and a confectionery shop-in-shop concept.
