Origins has partnered with Dr Andrew Weil to create a new skincare range that aims to protect against pollution.
According to Origins, new studies have shown that there are over 600 billion metric tonnes of pollution in the atmosphere, a figure which increases every year. Developed following 15 years of investigating the effect that such high levels of pollution and other environmental aggressors have on the skin, the Dr Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Defense collection is said to work on three levels to protect, defend and strengthen skin.
Mega-Defense Barrier-Boosting Essence Oil is designed to be the first step in the Mega-Defense range. It can be applied under or over moisturiser in the morning, and again at night. Said to be lightweight, fast-absorbing and non-greasy, this anti-oxidant-rich oil is formulated to strengthen and nourish skin’s barrier. It contains Lady’s Thistle, historically used as a homeopathic remedy to soothe irritated skin, Evening Primrose, to add hydration, and Camellia, a tea oil which is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E.

Mega-Defense Barrier-Boosting Essence Oil is on-counter now in global travel retail locations.
Mega-Defense SPF45 Advanced Daily UV Defender is a 100% non-chemical and oil-free shield formulated to protect skin from UVA and UVB rays, pollution and environmental stress. It contains Opuntia Cactus, a succulent plant from Brazil, which has adapted to hostile desert climates by creating moisture reserves. When used on skin, Origins claims that it can boost moisture levels, helping to create a physical barrier to protect skin. Also containing natural zinc oxide and titanium, the product claims to combat free radicals to prevent irritation occurring.
Both products are infused with an essential oil blend of tuberose, jasmine, rose and bitter orange to soothe and refresh the senses.
