Added sink and shower appeal: the new Origins for Men products |
UK. Origins has added to its existing men’s portfolio, to create what it describes as the first complete men’s care collection featuring key products for “the sink and the shower”.
The result is a multi-benefit collection of grooming aids that addresses the distinct needs of male consumers, according to the company.
All pre-existing Origins for Men products will be repackaged in the new colour-scheme, which features warm greens and charcoals. The full range will be introduced this month.
The new products are: Lip Remedy, Easy Slider Pre-Shave Oil and Fire Fighter Plus.
Lip Remedy Soothing Lip Saver – back by popular demand – now sports a male-friendly applicator tip. The formula contains menthol and camphor to soothe and comfort dry lips, and is said to help create an invisible barrier to protect against the elements.
Easy Slider Pre-Shave Oil is described as a lightweight, pre-shave lube that softens follicles and gives blades a fast, friction-free glide, thereby reducing cuts and nicks. It is especially recommended for men prone to razor bumps, ingrown hairs and heavy beards.

Live and Be Weil: the new Mega-Mushroom duo by Dr Andrew Weil for Origins |
The oil contains vitamin E, grapeseed oil, sage and peppermint. In addition to the face, it is suitable for prepping arms, legs, chest and back.
Lastly, there is Fire Fighter Plus Beard Taming After Shave Soother. An oil-free, post-shave product, it is designed to calm razor-rubbed skin and help maintain that just-shaved look.
“By equipping men with new formulations, along with our revitalised best-sellers, we aim to provide [consumers] with a nature-inspired and approachable alternative to shaving and grooming that’s also an enjoyable process,” commented Origins Vice President of Global Marketing Susan Akkad.
In other news, Origins is rolling out in travel retail its new Dr Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Mushroom skincare collection (The Moodie Report.com, 16 February – click here for story).
The products, a Face Cream and Face Serum, are described as specially-formulated items that expand upon the Origins wellness philosophy. Future products will be added, also based on the principle of an integrative approach to skin care.
The Mega-Mushroom Face Serum is said to optimise the skin’s defences against ageing. It includes a mushroom blend of Hypsizygus ulmarius, Cordyceps and Reishi, ginger, turmeric, holy basil, resveratrol and argan nut oil.
The Mega-Mushroom Face Cream includes Hypsizygus ulmarius and Chaga mushrooms, in addition to extract of narcissus lily bulb, known to help optimise skin’s energy and slow the appearance of the effects of ageing.
Certain species of mushroom have long been revered in Asia for their ability to boost resistance to stress and promote long life.
Dr Weil is donating all his after-tax profits from the sale of Dr Andrew Weil for Origins products to the Weil Foundation, an organisation dedicated to sustaining the vision of integrative medicine. For more information visit www.weilfoundation.org
