Dr Andrew Weil for Origins is set to capitalise on the enduring popularity of the mask segment with a new product from the brand’s Mega-Bright franchise. Mega-Bright Dark Spot Correcting Night Mask is being launched into travel retail doors in Europe, the Middle East and Africa this month, and will roll out to the Americas and Asia Pacific from March.
Mega-Bright Dark Spot Correcting Night Mask has been formulated to help address a root cause of discolouration and intercept irritation before it becomes damage, according to the brand.
It combines powerful anti-irritation ingredients and efficacious brightening ingredients to help quell the cascade of irritation, build skin’s resilience to boost hydration and amplify its radiant translucency overnight.
In a clinical test, in just four weeks, 82% of panellists demonstrated a visible reduction in the appearance of dark spots and an improvement in skin tone, according to Origins.
A key ingredient within the formula is Rosa Roxburghii. A flowering bush that grows wild throughout Asia, its fruit contains potent anti-irritant ingredients that help quell melanin-triggering stress that leads to skin discolouration. It is considered a highly active and stable form of the antioxidant Vitamin C.
Over time, the effects of chronic irritation accumulate and signal pigment-producing cells to “overproduce”, resulting in skin discolouration, uneven tone and dark spots. Because skin is most receptive at night, it is considered the prime time to use such brightening products.
Dr Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Bright Dark Spot Correcting Night Mask retails domestically in the UK at around £48 (US$72) for 75ml.
