Paradies Lagardère wins hybrid retail and dining contract at Nashville Airport’s new satellite concourse

USA. Paradies Lagardère has been awarded a dining and retail concessions contract with Nashville International Airport.

The programme includes four restaurants and three shops comprising an array of popular local favourites and recognised national brands. These will be offered in the new, eight-gate satellite concourse, which is designed to accommodate the airport’s growing passenger traffic.

Paradies Lagardère will partner with two successful, Nashville-based small business owners – Amy Billings of Wine Down Nashville and E.J. Odom of EJO Ventures – to operate the contract.

The company said the hybrid retail and restaurant contract will serve the new satellite concourse’s demographic well. Passenger traffic is resurgent, it noted, currently running at +7% above the airport’s pre-pandemic record-breaking year in 2019.

Paradies Lagardère said that Nashville International Airport is poised to continue thriving in coming years as the Tennessee capital was included in the ‘Top 50 Places to Travel in 2021’ by Travel + Leisure magazine.

“Paradies Lagardère’s commitment to local authenticity and their sharp focus on the overall airport experience is why we’re thrilled to partner with them on the new dining and retail concessions for our upcoming satellite concourse,” said Nashville International Airport President and CEO Doug Kreulen.

“Nashville International (BNA) is the first and last experience that passengers get of Music City, and it’s vital to us that our dining and retail options reflect the experience of downtown Nashville. We look forward to expanding the BNA Experience in our newest concourse.”

“We are excited to partner with Nashville International Airport and support their Nashville Airport Experience philosophy by delivering a world-class retail and dining showcase worthy of Music City,” said Paradies Lagardère President and CEO Gregg Paradies.

“Our undeniable mix of iconic local and national brands paired with our industry-leading customer service will engage and excite travellers with amazing flavours, unique retail offerings, live entertainment and customer-centric innovation.”

The seven new locations are anchored around the celebrated local icon, Fat Bottom Brewing, which will embody founder Ben Bredesen’s West Nashville location by offering a menu designed to cover all times of the day; the brand’s featured beer, wine and specialty cocktails; fresh grab and go; and a live music stage showcasing an array of Nashville’s renowned musical talent.

Another local favourite, Bongo Java, will offer its renowned coffee as well as all-day breakfast items. Jimmy John’s will serve its trademark fresh and affordable offerings, and TX/MX, a proven Paradies Lagardère proprietary concept will offer flavoursome Southwestern fare.

On the retail side, Gulch Goods pays homage to The Gulch neighbourhood (a high-end Nashville neighbourhood renowned for chic hotels, luxury fashion boutiques and on-trend restaurants) by presenting a shop-in-shop concept dedicated to local artisan goods, including Thistle Farms, Paddywax, Nashville Soap Company, Olive & Sinclair, and more.

Distillery District Market will showcase Tennessee’s famed whisky industry with a wide variety of premium spirits and merchandise.

BNA Supply Co features popular travel essentials, a gourmet snack section of local purveyors, and a new display called Popular that emphasises gift items all under US$20.

Paradies Lagardère said that retail and dining programme will include innovations that drive engagement, convenience, and customer satisfaction. These include self-checkout stations; the company’s Scan, Pay & Go programme; mobile ordering, infrared gateless technology and more.
