Givenchy face Liv Tyler promotes the new Rouge Interdit Shine lipstick |
FRANCE. Parfums Givenchy has unveiled a new lipstick, called Rouge Interdit Shine. The “light-trapping” formula features two types of ultra-shiny pearlescent particles, which enhance the existing colours from the original Rouge Interdit line, according to the company.
A Givenchy exclusive, the “Wondershine” pearlescent particles are micro-particles of super-fine silver, gold or copper-coloured crystals. Small, fine and flat, they have a lamellar structure that allows the lipstick to glide evenly onto the lips. The result is a higher concentration of particles and added shine (the formula contains 8% pearlescent particles, while a normal lipstick usually has only 3%).
The transparent “Puresparkle” pearlescent particles reflect the light, producing intense, pure-white highlights and thus increasing the lipstick shine, the company maintains.
In addition, the Rouge Interdit Shine formula contains the original Rouge Interdit liquid crystals. These multi-layer pigments reflect several colours of the light spectrum (one colour per lamellar layer). Unlike ordinary opaque pigments, liquid crystals are transparent, allowing total synergy between their multi-reflecting properties and the shade of the lipstick base, causing the colours to merge, for ultra-luminous, shimmering, intensely vibrant lipstick effects.
Other key components include a senso oil complex for a creamy texture and environmental protection, plus the so-called “gold of pleasure oil”, which contains an unusually high concentration of the essential fatty acids Omega 6 and Omega 3, known for their moisturising properties.
Rouge Interdit Shine is fragranced with a blend of rose, lilac, jasmine, ylang-ylang, carnation and cedar.
In terms of packaging, Rouge Interdit and Rouge Interdit Shine share the same graphic identity and strong Givenchy signature. The latter, however, is encased in a gleaming transparent tube sparkling with fine glitter, topped with a grey/silver grosgrain ribbon.
Rouge Interdit Shine is available in 16 shades. The advertising campaign is fronted by Givenchy face, actress Liv Tyler.
