Pasco to launch B&O Play’s BeoPlay H8 headphones at TFWA Asia Pacific

Travel retail electronics distributor Pasco will introduce several novelties, including the new BeoPlay H8 on-ear headphones from B&O Play by Bang & Olufsen, at the upcoming TFWA Asia Pacific exhibition (stand number: A9).

Already well established in the inflight channel, Pasco told The Moodie Report that its focus for 2015 is on building its travel retail business in all channels. The company sees the TFWA Asia Pacific show as a platform to touch base with existing customers as well as find new ones.

“We see much potential for our brands in airport shops and on board cruise ships,” said Pasco GmbH General Manager Robert Suter. “As a distributor, our aim is to bring branded consumer electronics to the travel retail channel, and we strive to be a reliable supply partner that offers “˜one-stop shopping’ for electronics.”

Designed by Danish industrial designer Jakob Wagner, BeoPlay H8 is said to combine the freedom of wireless headphones with an intuitive aluminium touch interface, active noise cancellation and extended battery lifetime in a sleek, lightweight design.

Users can answer calls, change songs, adjust the volume or activate Active Noise Cancellation by tapping or swiping the intuitive touch interface on the right ear cup of the headphones.

The battery inside BeoPlay H8 provides up to 14 hours of playtime even with the noise cancellation turned on – enough for most long-haul flights, Pasco noted. The battery can be replaced or recharged by plugging in the audio cord.

Weighing just 255g, the BeoPlay H8 is crafted from premium materials such as anodised aluminium, cowhide leather and smooth lambskin. It is available in two colours: Gray Hazel and Argilla Bright.

Priced at US$499, BeoPlay H8 is available in the domestic market at Bang & Olufsen stores, the B&O Play online store (www.beoplay.com) and selected third party retailers from January 2015.
