PENS & LIGHTERS: ISPA award for Caran d’Ache’s Dunas

SWITZERLAND. Caran d’Ache won first prize for writing instruments in the ISPA (International Stationery Press Association) awards during the Paperworld fair in January, with its innovative Dunas Collection.

During this year, the Dunas Collection has been successfully launched amongst the main duty free operators, including the two latest airline listings: Alitalia and LanChile.

“Dunas Collection” is the new generation name of the writing instruments from Caran d’Ache, distinguished by their innovative lines and warm sand colours. A particular attraction of the new collection is a rollerball with a novel rolling fluid cartridge providing even better writing performance. The collection – consisting of a fountain pen, rollerball, ballpoint pen and mechanical pencil – is available in four distinctive colours that echo the mysterious hues of some of the world’s great deserts: Beige stands for the Gobi, Ivory for the Mojave, Brick Red is for Australia’s Tanami Desert, and Black is the Sahara.

Since 1993, ISPA has organized an international award in order to support innovative products. Thanks to the worldwide presence of the Association, publishers in the sector offer ISPA winners world editorial coverage on the five continents. A jury, composed of 26 chief editors and members of ISPA, each year choose the winners from hundreds of new products. This “one-of-a-kind” event for the writing instruments category happens once a year during Paperworld – Frankfurt every January.
