Pernod Ricard-owned Scotch whisky leader Chivas Brothers is marking the Lunar New Year (10 February) with three limited-edition releases: The Glenlivet Lunar New Year Rare Cask, Royal Salute 21 Year Old Signature Blend Lunar New Year gift pack and The Glenlivet limited-edition Lunar New Year 18 Year Old.
The Glenlivet Lunar New Year Rare Cask is exclusively available in travel retail at a recommended retail price (RRP) of US$160.
Its packaging pays homage to the Year of the Dragon with a symbolic illustration featuring a golden dragon against a deep-blue background.
The single malt Scotch whisky – matured in ex-sherry, American white oak and traditional casks – is part of The Glenlivet Triple Cask Matured Single Malt Whisky Series.
The Glenlivet limited-edition Lunar New Year 18 Year Old is available domestically in China for RRP US$174.99. Its packaging also features festive illustrations that take inspiration from Lunar New Year traditions.
These collectable expressions not only celebrate the Year of the Dragon, but also The Glenlivet’s bicentennial this year.
The third launch, Royal Salute 21 Year Old Signature Blend Lunar New Year gift pack, has been designed by Chinese illustrator and visual artist Yunshu Li. It is available in limited quantities at selected luxury retailers for RRP US$200.

Chivas Brothers noted: “The bespoke illustration captures the global cultural significance of Lunar New Year by bringing to life a sense of hope and happiness through the design.”
The artwork combines figurative cues of the new year, depicting the renowned ‘gun salute’ being fired from Royal Salute’s symbolic home – the Tower of London. The illustration emcompasses floral bouquets which denote “wishes of happiness, growth, prosperity and love”, noted the Scotch whisky producer.

Yunshu Li commented: “As flowers blossom, lanterns are lit and fireworks burst in the sky, we begin the global celebration of the new year.
“With this special edition of Royal Salute, dispersing gifts and joy, travel with me to lands full of wonder, finding joy and happiness along the way.” ✈
