BRAZIL. Leading cosmeceutical brand Perricone is set to make its debut in the travel retail channel in conjunction with Brasif.
The listing was brokered by distribution company NV Perricone MD Latin America, which is responsible for establishing the brand in the region within both domestic and duty free markets.
“The big news is that we have been listed by Brasif,” Director Paulo Figueiredo told The Moodie Report. “This is the very first listing in travel retail for Perricone – and it’s with the biggest player on the Latin American market. We will be going into the two arrivals stores in Sao Paulo, with two back-wall positions. And of course these will be supported by a dedicated sales person, as education about and explanation of the brand is vital.”
The company is confident that the Brasif breakthrough will pave the way for others. “Now we have secured [this debut listing] we will be looking to work with other key operators,” commented Co-Director Ari Lustbader. “But the roll-out in Latin America will be slow, steady and deliberate, in line with what Perricone is looking to do worldwide.”
The travel retail debut comes at an opportune time for the Perricone brand. In October, a new 2,100sq ft New York flagship store is set to open on Madison Avenue; a third book, The Perricone Promise, will be published by company founder Dr Nicholas Perricone; and new high-ticket Neuropeptide skincare treatments will be introduced.
Looking ahead, within their region Figueiredo, Lustbader and third partner Marko Jovovic will continue to concentrate on domestic and duty free doors in Brazil, Mexico and the Caribbean. “We’ve been working with Perricone for just over a year and we’re very happy with the progress so far,” Lustbader concluded.
