Want to talk about your pet subject?*If you would like to feature (with your pet) in a forthcoming edition of this regular column, please contact Colleen Morgan at Colleen@MoodieDavittReport.com |
The Moodie Davitt Report is delighted to bring you the latest edition in our Pet-sonality Profile column, in association with Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
In this regular fun feature, we discover more about travel retail pet-sonalities, their back stories, traits and habits, as well as offering some insights into their owners. Each pet-sonality will also be painted digitally by pets and equine artist Sami Moodie.
In this edition, we meet Ink Travel Media* Head of International Growth Alex Thompson and his much-loved Cockerpoo Chester.
Name: Chester
Breed: He is a Cockerpoo, with Mum a Spaniel and Dad a Poodle.
How old is Chester? He is four.
How did you meet? Our daughters Clemmie and Poppy used to watch Waffle the Wonder Dog on TV. Their grandparents had a dog, as did their uncles and aunts, so gradually by attrition their requests for my wife Kat and I to get a pet became impossible to ignore.
We found a breeder who did a lot of research on us before we could meet with Chester in Haslemere, in Surrey, England.
Love at first sight? Chester was chosen for us from the litter. He had already proven himself to be quite resilient and robust so, considering our two young daughters, the breeder thought he would be the best fit. And, yes, we were all immediately absolutely smitten.
Quirky habits? The moment he wants something Chester collapses onto his back as if all the air has been let out of him. He then beckons you in by waving his right paw in the air.
Nicest moments? Whatever your mood, or however your day has gone, the wonderful welcome when you walk in the door at the end of the day is precious and lifts your spirits. Unswerving love and friendship.
Favourite trick? And treat? If you shake a metal box of treats Chester will stop dead and sit down wherever you are. He is very keen on cheddar cheese and sausages too.
Social media account? We are not really a social media family so poor Chester has been denied but he has appeared on LinkedIn and made ‘guest appearances’ on many others.
If Chester could talk what would his first words be? I’ll have roast chicken please. Always.
Favourite airport/airline? Chester has not been on a plane yet.
Anything else we should know? We think getting Chester has been the best thing we have done as a family and proves that a home without a dog is just a house.
Chester appeals to each member of my family for slightly different reasons. For the girls he is a source of cuddles, can be dressed up as a very long suffering and patient living doll. He has been an addition of great pleasure for family walks, attends the girl’s netball and tennis matches and, being the only other male in the house, sits on the sofa with me to watch the sport on TV.
He has become a constant we all relate to. We adore him.
