Pet-sonality Profile with Tito’s Handmade Vodka: Meet Frank Pieper and Hannah

Introducing Hannah: “A terrier through and through”

The Moodie Davitt Report is delighted to bring you the latest edition in our Pet-sonality Profile column, in association with Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

In this regular fun feature we discover more about travel retail pet-sonalities, their back stories, traits and habits, as well as offering some insights into their owners. Each pet-sonality will also be painted digitally by pets and equine artist Sami Moodie.

In this edition, Frank Pieper, Commercial Manager of Berlin-based retailer and distributor BERetail* introduces us to a “cheeky little lady” named Hannah.

Name: Hannah

Breed: Parson Russell Terrier

How old? 4½ years.

How did you meet? My partner and husband Martin Enk-Pieper and I met Hannah for the first time at the breeder. She was eight weeks old and incredibly chubby.

We believed a dog could distract us from all the constant work, and we were right. With Hannah, we can focus on the essentials of life from time to time.

Pawsing for a break from work: Hannah with Martin Enk-Pieper (left) and Frank Pieper

Love at first sight? Oh yes, definitely. At the first meeting she licked Martin’s ear; a very intimate moment.

Quirky habits? Hannah is a terrier through and through. She defends her territory and does not accept other dogs around our house. As you can imagine, that can be quite exhausting.

Besides that, she really can’t stand skate boarders; she barks and tries to chase after them. And no human knows why.

Hannah has claimed her place as an essential part of Martin and Frank’s home and business

Funniest and/or nicest moment? Hannah loves women, which is why she throws herself on her back in front of every woman and wants to have her belly rubbed. There is no exception but with men it’s a totally different story.

The amazing thing is that Hannah does this even with complete strangers. We interpret this as infinite trust, but we could be wrong. I’m sure this will set some dog owners thinking.

Favourite trick? And treat? Hannah has learnt to get food when she operates a bell. She really enjoys it; both the bell and the food. Her favourite snack is dried, hairy bunny ears. Creepy, in our opinion.

Social media account? No. Hannah is a serious business dog with no time for social media. Yet.

One of Hannah’s favourite places… in the car, ready and waiting

If Hannah could talk what would be her first words? Give me the stupid ball!

Favourite airport/airline: We take Hannah to work with us. She is an official BERetail team member and is much loved by all our employees. She is either in our office in Berlin or with us when we go to the airports.

Dresden Airport is definitely Hannah’s favourite. Even the people in security are quite fond of the cheeky little lady.

Even though Hannah loves driving, she hasn’t flown yet and I don’t believe we will be recommending that in the near future because in our opinion flying is for humans.

Anything else we should know? Hannah has a crippled tail, which is why she would not have found a keeper. However, we find this tail unique and are happy every day that she shares our lives. Life without her? That’s very hard to imagine now.
