Want to talk about your pet subject?*If you would like to feature (with your pet) in a forthcoming edition of this regular column, please contact Colleen Morgan at Colleen@MoodieDavittReport.com |
The Moodie Davitt Report is delighted to bring you the latest edition in our Pet-sonality Profile column, in association with Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
In this regular fun feature, we discover more about travel retail pet-sonalities, their back stories, traits and habits, as well as offering some insights into their owners. Each pet-sonality will also be painted digitally by pets and equine artist Sami Moodie.
In this edition, we meet Bahrain Duty Free Acting Buyer Jehan Khaled and Delta, a fun-loving, ‘get to know me over a bucket of ice’ Siberian Husky.
Name: Delta.
Breed: Siberian Husky.
How old is Delta? He is three years old.
How did you meet? Delta is a rescue dog. I was not looking to adopt or buy a pet as I was moving house at that time I ‘met’ him.
I was driving home from dinner with some friends when I noticed a guy walking away from this fluffy furball. I have a soft spot for animas, so I decided to look away as I thought they were just playing around. And I knew I would get attached to the dog immediately.
But as I was driving away, my friends looked back, and saw the guy getting in the car without taking the puppy with him. I am so glad they noticed what was going on. It made me turn right around and led me to Delta. Now I can’t imagine my life without him.
Love at first sight? Of course.
Any quirky habits? Delta loves to shove his face in pillows, sofas, under blankets or any soft material. His head is just there with his ears out like Batman.
Funniest and/or nicest moment? He’s afraid of cats. When we go for walks and he spots a cat coming in his direction, he walks the other way, dragging me along with him.
Favourite trick? And treat? Ice. Delta would beg for ice, howl for ice. He disrupts everything in his path when he hears the word ice.
Social media account? No. He is more of a get to know me over a bucket of ice kind of dog.
If Delta could talk what would his first words be? I am hungry!
Favourite airport or airline? Despite sharing his name with an airline, Delta has not been on a plane yet. He loves road trips and sitting in the front seat and howling when the windows are down.
Anything else we should know? During his few visits to the vet, we have been told that Delta is one of the friendliest dogs compared to other huskies. He is very clingy and is the best cuddle buddy.
He is also an athlete, or he thinks he is when we take him to the park. His speciality is frisbee. It does not seem to matter what angle you throw it to him; he will contort his body in all manner of impossible ways to jump up and pluck it out of the air.
He also has his stalking moments. He thinks we cannot see him but at home when things are quiet, he gets on stalking mode and slowly walks towards you until you walk away, and then you have no choice but to run because he leaps at you and runs away.
He is the best member of our family, and we cannot imagine life without him.
