Want to talk about your pet subject?*If you would like to feature (with your pet) in a forthcoming edition of this regular column, please contact Colleen Morgan at Colleen@MoodieDavittReport.com |
The Moodie Davitt Report is delighted to bring you the latest edition in our Pet-sonality Profile column, in association with Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
In this regular fun feature, we discover more about travel retail pet-sonalities, their back stories, traits and habits, as well as offering some insights into their owners. Each pet-sonality is also painted digitally by pets and equine artist Sami Moodie.
In this edition, we meet Recruit GTR* Director Jill Brocklebank and her happy, fun-loving Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Sadie.
Name + nickname (if relevant): Her name is Sadie, but she is also known as Sadiepops, Dolly and Dolly girl.
Our son Oliver calls her Doudas while my husband Kevin may possibly use some other phrases that we would prefer not to put into print.
What breed is Sadie? She’s a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Many people recoil at this breed; on the contrary they are known as a Nanny dog, very gentle and great with children. The breed gets a bad reputation, but that is due to owners and not the dog. Sadie is a lovely, happy girl.
How old is she? 16 months.
How did you meet? Sadie came from a champion breeder in Lincolnshire, UK. She was from a litter of six puppies and was so cute when we got her.
Love at first sight? Completely. I had wanted a dog forever; Kevin was less enthusiastic. He can be referred to as the reluctant dog owner.
Quirky habits? Sadie ‘talks’, most especially when we are sat at the dining table eating a meal and she would very much like a share of what we may be having. So, she actually sits and talks to us.
Her favourite thing to do is curl up on you and go to sleep, as if she is cuddling you.
Funniest and/or nicest moments? Sadie simply just wants to say hello to everyone, be it humans, dogs or anything else. She is an incredibly happy, settled dog, who is enthusiastic to meet everyone and has a very waggy tail. She also plays beautifully with other dogs.
Sadie has a best friend called Brodie. We go walking together and they walk alongside each other, in tandem; it’s very cute. When they can go off the lead, they run around like nutter dogs.
Favourite trick? And treat? Definitely catching a ball. Her favourite game is playing with any kind of ball; she’s very good at catching them and chasing after them.
Sadie’s favourite treat is chewing an antler, which she can devour in less than a week. It looks like a big cigar coming out of her mouth.
Social media account? Definitely not.
If Sadie could talk what her first words be? Can I have what you are having?
Favourite airport/airline? Sadie hasn’t travelled by air yet. She likes being in the car though and always has to sit on someone’s knee and look out of the window.
Anything else we should know about Sadie? She loves to come to the office and sits with the team and get attention from them all, doing the rounds desk by desk.
*As reported, Jilly Brocklebank, part of the wife and husband team who owns travel retail consultancy and services provider One Red Kite, split off its recruitment business to launch Recruit GTR last year.
