Philips Global Travel Retail is set to showcase a range of beauty tools at next month’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (stand number: Yellow Village D36).
The new products, promoted in partnership with The Nuance Group (UK), are part of Philips’ global travel retail strategy to “offer beautifully designed tools that give women access to the latest technology to complement and upgrade their beauty regime”. The company’s range of beauty devices covers hair removal, haircare and skincare and this extensive portfolio tailored for easy use in the home or on the go is now available for the travel retail market.
“Beauty devices for at-home use are a fast growing market and increasingly capture the attention of travel retailers,” Philips stated. “It makes sense that the rising trend grows also in popularity among travellers, who are increasingly sophisticated and health-conscious.”
In line with its commitment to offering advanced solutions and products that enhance consumers’ beauty regimes even when travelling, the company launched a series of new products exclusively through a Philips Beauty road show in August, distinguishing the visual presentation and product display from beauty stores in domestic markets.
Philips Global Channel Manager Travel Retail Steven van Dortmond explained: “Our beauty devices allow women to experience technology that they would normally only find in a salon. The range of Philips Beauty products we are presenting this year is a clear demonstration of how we are improving women’s lives through meaningful innovation so that they look and feel more beautiful every day. A fantastic example is the Philips VisaCare, the most recent innovation in our skincare portfolio and our first exciting venture into microdermabrasion.”

The new Philips VisaCare is described as an innovative, anti-aging skin resurfacing tool, which can be used by women in the comfort of their own home or on the go. It is said to use non-invasive microdermabrasion techniques, combining innovative suction and exfoliation technology to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the skin’s natural resurfacing process, giving skin an instantly revitalised appearance.
According to Philips, the VisaCare uses a DualAction Air Lift and Exfoliation System which removes dead skin cells on the surface of the skin to smooth its texture. The Air Lift system provides a deep tissue vacuum massage that stretches and lifts skin, increasing blood flow and bringing oxygen and nutrients to the area. The optimum level of skin stretch is known to stimulate fibroblasts, which are understood to increase collagen and elastin production and leave women with firmer-feeling, more youthful-looking skin in four to six weeks.
VisaPure Advanced is an innovative beauty tool designed to give women the experience of a luxurious facial from the convenience of their own homes. Developed with Japanese facial massage experts, the facial massage attachment featured on the VisaPure Advanced is inspired by the Petrissage massage technique, said to increase blood circulation and relax the muscles for revitalised skin with a healthy-looking glow. Combined with an attachment for deep yet gentle cleansing and an attachment for eyecare, it offers a three-in-one at-home facial device to help women achieve radiant skin.
VisaPure Advanced features “˜intelligent head recognition’ to ensure that the tool is always used at the correct intensity and for the correct length of time for each of the three different attachments being used: one minute for cleansing, three minutes for revitalising massage and a 30-second fresh eye boost.

The Philips Lumea hair removal system uses light-based technology called IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) to remove and prevent the reappearance of hair on the face as well as body. Philips said it has adapted the IPL technology used in professional beauty salons for safe and effective use at home, working closely with leading dermatologists to develop the system. Pulses of light are applied to the hair root; as a consequence the hair sheds naturally and hair regrowth is inhibited. Repeating this treatment regularly is said to keep skin smooth every day, according to the company.
Recognising the importance of preserving the hair’s natural hydration balance when styling in order to maintain smooth, shiny and healthy-looking hair, Philips has worked with hair care professionals to develop the MoistureProtect range. The MoistureProtect Dryer is said to deliver optimal drying results, allowing women to create on-trend styles quickly and easily, while preserving the hair’s hydration. The MoistureProtect Sensor in the MoistureProtect Straightener monitors the heat to maintain the hair’s natural hydration. If needed, the sensor signals the straightener to automatically adjust its temperature setting within seconds to preserve the moisture of hair.
Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Pink is the first pink toothbrush in the award-winning DiamondClean range aimed at women who want a combination of stylish beauty and sonic technology, according to the company. Philips has given its popular Sonicare AirFloss a pink makeover “to encourage women to make interdental cleaning a regular part of their daily oral healthcare routine”.
