UK. Five hundred guests gathered at a lavish gala dinner thrown by Alpha Group to celebrate its annual 2006 Alpha Heroes staff recognition scheme.
Some 21 team and individual awards were presented to Alpha staff from across its UK, Ireland and Channel Islands operations. Sixty companies sponsored the event, many for the third consecutive year – “a measure of the impact the staff-based programme has had on Alpha’s business to date”, according to Alpha Airports Group. After the awards were given out the glamorous event carried on into the night with energetic displays of salsa dancing, a duet of Mariah Carey’s ‘Hero’ by Alpha’s singing talents and a late-night disco.
