TAIWAN. Plaza Premium Lounge has made its debut in Taipei with the opening of passenger lounges in Taoyuan International Airport.
The lounges are located in Departures in Terminal 1 and T2 and span over 2,500sq m with seating for about 600 people. All travellers can pay for access to the lounges.

The company has also sponsored two ‘Travellers Experience Zones’ in both terminals, which allow passengers to explore and experience various lounge facilities.
“Plaza Premium Lounge in Taipei is the first project of our Group in Taiwan,” commented Plaza Premium Group Founder and CEO Song Hoi-see at the opening ceremony. “We have invested a lot in Taipei by introducing four Plaza Premium Lounges to facilitate travellers departing from, transiting through and arriving at Taipei. We aim at strengthening the affinity of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to travellers and making it a preferred transit hub in East Asia.”
The lounges have a ‘trees and timber’ theme, in which contemporary city elements have been combined with local flavours. Various artistic timber structures are intended to resemble the vitality and prosperity of Taiwan, while a series of fabrics and decorations across various zones in the lounges represent the idea of evolution being an ever-changing process.

Additionally, a hollow shape of Taiwan island on carved wood is embedded in the front wall of Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 1, while the Taipei 101 skyscraper and the skyline of Xinyi district is illustrated in a 3 metre bas-relief in the reception of the lounge in Terminal 2.
Facilities in the lounges include honeycomb seating, showers, private resting suites, VIP rooms, a meeting room, electrical outlets, international TV channels, complimentary Wi-Fi, newspapers and magazines. The new lounges also offer freshly-made international cuisines at live-cooking stations, providing a theatrical and interactive dining experience, according to the company.
The basic lounge use package in either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 starts at NT$1,300 (US$40.50) for two hours.
