OMAN. The Plaza Premium Lounge, a new VIP lounge for travellers in Oman, has been opened at Muscat International Airport.
In a ceremony held at the airport Ministry of Finance Secretary General for Taxation and Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC) SAOC Board of Directors Deputy Chairman H.E Saud Bin Nasser Al-Shukaily inaugurated the lounge and cut the ribbon to mark the opening.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Zahara Travel Group Chairman Abdul Munim Al Zawawi, the Board of Directors of OAMC and Zahara Airport Services, senior officials from OAMC and the Royal Oman Police (ROP), airline managers, corporate heads and general managers from the hotel industry in Oman.
The Plaza Premium Lounge is available to all passengers regardless of airline or class of travel. For a small initial fee, transferring or departing travellers at Muscat International Airport can have unlimited use of all the lounge’s facilities while waiting for their flight.
According to the lounge operator the new lounge is focused on high-quality service, and guarantees customers privacy in a relaxed, one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
OAMC Chief Executive George Bellew said: “Lounges add convenience to our valued customers’ travel, as they provide a comfortable place for passengers to relax during transfers or before their flight.
“The Plaza Premium Lounge is operated by Zahara Airport Services and is in tune with passenger expectations and it will welcome walk-in passengers to use the facilities during transfer or while departing. All this will add up to give a new dimension in our endeavour to create the highest standards of customer service at the airport”.

Earlier this year, Zahara Travel & Service Bureau won the OAMC tender for operating one of the VIP departure lounges at Muscat International Airport and entered into a historic tie-up with Plaza Premium Lounge of Hong Kong to operate the departure lounge, bringing together local know-how and international expertise.
Plaza Premium Lounge Management Ltd, a respected lounge management company, manages and operates 30 airport lounges in ten international airports across the globe.

Other amenities include enhanced menus for food & beverages with a wide buffet choice of hot and cold meals, hot and cold beverages, TV and reading materials.
It is open 24 hours, 365 days a year.
