The 15,000sq ft facility will be the largest commercial lounge at an Asian airport |
HONG KONG. Airport service provider Plaza Premium Lounge has offered a pictorial preview of its new flagship pay-in lounge at Hong Kong International Airport. The lounge opens in November.
Occupying 15,000sq ft in the West Hall, the 24-hour facility will be the largest commercial airport lounge in Asia. It will have services for business and leisure travellers, including high speed Wi-fi, workstations, recharging stations, printing and photocopying services, in addition to a VIP room and meeting rooms.
Plaza Premium Lounge said: “With its sleek-chic interiors by Hong Kong-based designer Kinney Chan, custom-made furniture, innovative design and interactive services, the lounge is not only humanised but each area is different from the other, to ensure choice and a different experience every time travellers visit.”
The lounge will house its own bakery, salad bar, coffee and tea station, plus a noodle bar – with a number of firsts for airport lounges, says Plaza Premium |
Travellers will have the opportunity to sample “the best of Hong Kong”, said the company, with a localised menu. This will feature Hong Kong-style milk tea, pineapple buns with butter, Chinese rice cakes and egg tarts. There will be an in-lounge bakery, salad bar, coffee and tea station, noodle bar (also featuring its signature Hong Kong-style fish ball noodle), tapas bar and slow-cooked meats – something that Plaza Premium says has never been done at a lounge before.
Plaza Premium Lounge is set to open lounges in a number of major international airports – including London Heathrow T2, Macau and Sydney – as it aims to add 50 new locations by 2015.
