JAPAN. Narita International Airport (NAA) officially opened its first Pokémon Store at Tokyo Narita Airport today, landside at the south end of Terminal 2’s 4th floor.
With a broad range of Pokémon merchandise, the Narita store is the only location to offer Pilot Pikachu and Cabin Attendant Pikachu characters.
NAA timed the store’s soft opening on 29 April to coincide with the start of Japan’s important Golden Week holidays (from 29 April to 6 May).
It ran a sequence of opening events through the holiday period including a Pokémon Roving Stamp Rally and Meet Pikachu sessions, held at the Skyrium event stage in T2’s 3rd floor.
NAA reports that the business has made a very good start, with many customers visiting to buy Pokémon goods.
The exclusive Pikachu stuffed toys have proven to be among the most popular items.
As reported, NAA is overseeing a host of new store openings in 2015.
