Polaroid Contact Lens Solutions has extended its ‘Extra’ range of eye care products with the new Beauty Eye Drops Extra.
Exclusive to travel retail, the product made its debut last month at the TFWA World Exhibition with Sea & Sky Supply, its partner for duty free and travel retail worldwide.

Beauty Eye Drops Extra comprises five 0.35ml eye drop ampoules containing pro-vitamin B5. The drops are preservative-free and said to be suitable for anyone, including contact lens wearers. According to the company, pro-vitamin B5 hydrates, moisturises, and offers a “soothing experience for tired, irritated eyes”.
The single-use ampoules are packaged in a resealable bag to keep the ampoules clean and ensure fresh drops on every application. The pack also includes a mirror.
Sea & Sky Supply will distribute the entire ‘Extra’ range of eye care products, including Contactspod, hailed by Polaroid as the world’s first disposable contact lens case. The size of a makeup compact, the Contactspod is pre-filled with a sterile multipurpose solution and provides single-use, airtight storage for contact lenses when removed during travelling or on holiday. The case has been tested to ensure no leakage and is designed to be recycled once lenses are removed.
Polaroid noted that international aviation authorities and airlines recommend the removal of contact lenses when flying long haul but the lack of access to safe storage could have travellers opting to leave lenses in for too long, leading to discomfort and possible eye infection. Polarid added that the Contactspod provides immediate access in a sterile single-use product.
The range, exclusive to travel retail, was developed in response to customer feedback on what would make eye care easier and practical when travelling. It includes:
Contactspod Extra – a single-use Contactspod plus mirror. This is handy when flying or whenever lenses need to be removed when travelling or on holiday, including during spa and beauty treatments or active sports, Polaroid said.
Beauty Eye Drops Extra – five single-use 0.35ml eye drop ampoules which are preservative-free and contain pro-vitamin B5. Packaged in a resealable bag which also contains a mirror for easy application.
Contactspod Travel Pack Extra – two Contactspods (one for each leg of the flight), plus five single-use 0.35ml eye drop ampoules which are preservative-free and contain pro-vitamin B5, a clear resealable security bag and mirror.
Eye Drops Travel Pack Extra – 10 single-use 0.35ml eye drop ampoules which are preservative-free and contain pro-vitamin B5. This pack includes an eye mask.
