Porsche Design and Beirut Duty Free partner for striking eyewear pop-up

Precision and innovation: The eye-catching promotion highlighted the brand’s latest eyewear innovations

LEBANON. German lifestyle brand Porsche Design recently teamed up with Beirut Duty Free for a high-profile pop-up and O2O eyewear campaign at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport. The promotion ran throughout April.

The pop-up featured an attention-grabbing stand-alone display that highlighted Porsche Design’s latest collections. It also shone the spotlight on the brand’s latest media campaign, starring American actor and motor sports enthusiast Patrick Dempsey.

As reported, German eyewear specialist Rodenstock named the American actor as the face of its Porsche Design brand earlier this year.

The pop-up showcased Porsche Design’s latest launches, including the P’8928 model which pays homage to the brand’s signature P’8478 style, originally created by Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche in 1978.

It was supported by an O2O campaign which combined both digital and real-world engagement. The pop-up was promoted through a social media campaign starring Dempsey, while in-store staff boosted sales through a selling incentive aimed at driving customer interaction.

The activation — which ran throughout April at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport — was supported with a social media campaign, out of home media and in-store promotions

On 26 April, Porsche Design CEO Dr. Jan Becker and Brand Ambassador Patrick Dempsey also held a digital press conference, which invited audiences to virtually discover the world of Porsche Design.

“This high-profile activation perfectly highlights why Porsche Design is a leader in stylish and eye-catching eyewear delivered with great precision and high level of innovation. We are delighted to bring the brand to life for shoppers at Beirut Duty Free,” commented Rodenstock Global Travel Retail Sales Manager Rebecca Rauner.

“Along with our Eyewear Ambassador Patrick Dempsey we know that a fashionable pair of sunglasses can be the ultimate fashion accessory, and this is why the category will play such a key role in helping the travel retail sector to recover as travellers return.”
