GERMANY. German design house Porsche Design has unveiled details of its Fall/Winter 2009 Porsche Design Sport collection and is set to introduce fashion and luggage lines to complement the new Porsche Panamera car.

Hitting retail shelves this month, the Porsche Design Sport Fall/Winter 2009 collection, a collaboration between adidas and Porsche Design, spans apparel, footwear and accessories in five categories: Water/Snow, Running/Fitness, Driving, Golf and Tennis.
Highlights of the Fall/Winter 2009 range include products from the Water/Snow category, specially developed for sailing and water-related activities.
The category also offers a wide range of winter apparel. These include the sporty Comfort Mapping Jacket which features GORE Comfort Mapping Technology, which is dubbed the next generation of advanced lamination and seam sealing technologies. The jacket is made from a combination of GORE-TEX fabrics to increase breathability, comfort, warmth and/or fit.
In footwear, the Bounce:S Leather is the key style for the season. It builds on the Bounce:S shoe, recognised in 2008 by the Plus X Award and the German Red Dot Design Award. Its car-inspired suspension system transfers vertical into horizontal forces and promotes forward propulsion through a pivot mechanism. This season it is crafted from supple, high-quality full-grain leather featuring an air-vent perforated design.
The colour palette of the collection goes beyond the brand’s signature black, white and titanium to include yellow and blue.

Following the launch of the 911, Boxster/Cayman and Cayenne, Porsche is introducing its latest four-seater car: the Panamera. This sporty Gran Turismo has inspired Porsche Design Driver’s Selection to create a Panamera Collection, including luggage, watches, clothing and lifestyle accessories.

To celebrate the car’s launch on 12 September, a new luggage series has been developed for the Porsche Travel System. The AluFrame trolleys feature a combination of aluminium frames and polycarbonate cases, for lightness and stability.
There are three models in various sizes, all available in Porsche exterior colours. The series, manufactured in Germany, features a safety lock incorporated into the aluminum frame and flexibly adjustable dividers with an inner compartment. The AluFrame M and AluFrame XL models are also equipped with an aluminium handle integrated into the case that is designed to make it easier to lift the luggage in and out of cars.
The Panamera collection’s watches are available in black and in shades of brown. The Chronograph Panamera for men and women and the Chronograph Panamera Turbo both feature a striking stainless steel case.
Panamera’s dark-blue outdoor jackets evoke a sailing style, while the outdoor soft-shell jackets have a water-repellent, wind-proof and breathable outer layer.
Textiles and accessories in the Panamera Collection, which also includes a polo shirt, rugby shirt and matching cap, round off this classical-sporty range.
Design details, such as the double-stitching borrowed from the car’s interior, have been replicated throughout.
