“The first six months of the fiscal year have been extremely positive. We are particularly pleased with the significant sales contribution of our first women’s handbag,” commented Porsche Design Group CEO Juergen Gessler.
“The TwinBag was launched in March to complement our ready-to-wear and lifestyle offerings for women. We are delighted with the consistently positive feedback that we have received from our female customers.”
To support its continued growth, the company is focusing on expanding its franchise activities for the Porsche Design brand in the second half of the year. Numerous new Porsche Design franchise stores have been opened, including in Miami and Charlotte (USA), Manila (Philippines), Jakarta (Indonesia), Macau (China), Tenerife (Spain) and Bucharest (Romania).
The company has also stepped up its presence in the travel retail sector: Porsche Design is now represented at airports in Amsterdam (Netherlands), Vienna (Austria), Zurich (Switzerland), Dubai (UAE) and Kazan (Russia).
In addition to Harrods in London and the Kaufhaus des Westens (KaDeWe) in Berlin, Porsche Design is now also represented at Harvey Nichols in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The Porsche Design luxury brand also opened a temporary retail store in Milan this past June.
Overall, the company expanded its global retail network to 128 Porsche Design stores in the first half of the year. A significant increase in the number of franchise and own-brand retail boutiques is planned by the end of the year.
In addition to the Porsche Design brand, the activities of the Porsche Design Group include the following divisions: Porsche Driver’s Selection and the Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See (Austria).
