All white: Porsche Design leather bag |
GERMANY. Porsche Design, famous for its all-black products, is launching a collection completely in white which will be available in Porsche Design stores from May 2008.
The collection combines the colour white with materials such as aluminium, titanium and stainless steel for a technical look. Products include a mobile phone, jacket, sunglasses, pen, leathergoods, jewellery and lighters.
Porsche Design Studio Managing Director Roland Heiler explained why the company had broken away from its typical black designs: “The colour white stands for purity and also has the property that it highlights the shape of the product. These characteristics also make white an excellent medium for our minimalist design language.”
Porsche Mobile Phone: The mobile phone, initially made in a combination of aluminium and black, is now available in a variant of aluminium and white. Its unique production method – it is made out of a solid aluminium block – and fingerprint sensor for user identification are its main features.

P’3140 Writing Tool: The P’3140 pen contains the firm’s innovative Shake technology which means the pen is ready to use with a mere flick of the wrist.
Men’s Collection: Includes a sporting jacket with a Porsche Design striped lining.
P’8458 Sunglasses: The model P’8458 combines white plastic applications and titanium.
Leather: Leathergoods are distinguished by their clear-cut lines. The trolley case handles are in aluminium and the briefcase features hand-brushed fastenings. The collection also includes a laptop-and-document case, a wallet and a cowhide credit card case.
P’3633 Lighter: The white collection lighter has a nozzle for safe use in stormy weather and hexagonal screws in the outer casing.
Jewellery: Jewellery includes a stainless steel cufflinks with inlays of white precious stones, a bracelet of woven calf leather with a magnetic catch, a key ring and a money clip.
