GERMANY. Porsche Design has reissued two sunglasses models from the 1970s and 80s with modern technology.
The Exclusive P’8478 pilot spectacles, originally launched in 1978, are said to combine the characteristic look of the 70s with the modern high-tech material titanium, which makes it light, flexible and stable.

Their retro look is also reflected in the colours: silver or gold. In addition, the replaceable lenses are made of “unbreakable” polycarbonate, the company said.
The relaunched Folding model P’8480 reproduces the sunglasses’ innovative folding mechanism, introduced in 1980. They can be folded down to just six by six centimetres and come in their original leather case.
The ultra-light material titanium is claimed to give outstanding wearing comfort and reliable stability. The polycarbonate lenses guarantee extensive UV protection.
Both models form part of Porsche Design’s Heritage Collection.
