ITALY. Italian fashion house Prada, whose sunglasses licensee is Luxottica, is poised to present Postcards Sunglasses, a capsule collection for Spring/Summer 2010.
Postcards Sunglasses, presented on the catwalk and strongly tied to Miuccia Prada’s collections, is dedicated to a number of holiday resorts that have always been big favourites with city dwellers.
The six sunglasses colours link a city to its twin vacation resort:
– Milan: green sunglasses, dedicated to Forte dei Marmi.
– Los Angeles: light pink sunglasses, dedicated to Santa Monica.
– Manhattan: transparent sunglasses with pink lenses, dedicated to Montauk.
– Paris: transparent sunglasses with light grey lenses, dedicated to Biarritz.
– London: transparent grey sunglasses with orange lenses, dedicated to Cornwall.
– Lisbon: matt black sunglasses with black lenses, dedicated to Setùbal.
In addition, Prada is creating “multi-media postcards” to be revealed soon.
The sunglasses, made of transparent injected material, will be available from Prada stores and through the travel retail channel this Spring. The domestic retail price is €160.
