UK. Protégé International is to premiere a new rum expression in The Wild Geese Collection at the TFWA World Exhibition (Stand number: Red Village K12).
Avalon Group Inc-owned The Wild Geese Collection comprises super-premium Irish whiskeys, which, in the last two years, have been voted Best Irish Whiskey three times.
Now Avalon is set to launch into domestic and duty free channels The Wild Geese Golden Rum, which uses hand-picked parcels of aged rum, aged for up to five years. It is described as a versatile, sweet and complex dark pouring rum suitable for mixing cocktails.
The golden Caribbean rum is matured in bourbon oak barrels and aged for up to five years. With hints of butterscotch and tropical fruit, The Wild Geese Golden Rum develops notes of apricot and cocoa to a lingering finish with a touch of dried spice, the company said.

The story of The Wild Geese
Even before the dramatic events that led to Patrick Sarsfield and The Wild Geese leaving Ireland in 1691, many Irish men and women were forced from their homeland, sent to the Caribbean and Americas to work on plantations.
Sent into exile, their story of courage has been largely untold until now. Determined to win freedom, those that escaped, blazed a trail across the endless blue as liberators and pirates of the Caribbean.
The Wild Geese Golden Rum was developed to tell their story:
‘By the sweat of our brow
And the strength of our backs
You will know our courage’
