ESCADA EYEWEAR COLLECTION SPRING/SUMMER 2006
Escada offers 30 trendy, colourful styles for summer eyewear, with a strong three-dimensional effect as well as elegant, lightweight metal glasses. Horns and luminous colours are used, while the stones on the metal styles are said to accentuate the three-dimensionality. A double E-logo is made from mother-of-pearl, and design elements are borrowed from the Escada Fine Jewelry Collection. Chic animal patterns and rich strass stones give the collection an offbeat charm.
Model SES034 6U3: Vintage trends are clear in this plastic, rectangular-shaped style with a soft colour combination. The classic metal trim has a double-E relief. The details are inspired by the Escada Fine Jewellery Collection. The design of the temples is described as light and comfortable.
Model SES037 700X: Nature-oriented, this acetate style features an animal pattern in colour shades such as blue, violet and fuchsia. Glamorous stones are highlights, as is the geometrical shape and comfortable temple.
Model SES545S 579: Inspired by the Escada Fine Jewellery Collection, this is the most glamorous of the collection, a combination of innovative design and fashion creativity, according to the company. This style incorporates strass stones, an oversized lens of polycarbonate and lightweight acetate temples.
Model SES547S 579X: This sporty, aviator style is complemented with strass-stones has a classic double bridge reminiscent of the 80s styles, in colours such as opaline rose, silver grey and black.
Model SES549S 300: The unconventional design is inspired by the Escada Fine Jewelry Collection. The decorative arms are described as luxurious as well as elegant. The solid structure of the frame is claimed to make it almost unbreakable. The more intellectual look comes from the shiny-matt effects seeming three-dimensional.
ESCADA SPORT EYEWEAR COLLECTION SPRING/SUMMER 2006
Round shapes are a favourite in the four Escada Sport styles. Sporty materials, such as NXT lenses, are said to give the highest protection and comfort.
Model SES552 579Y: Lightweight with NXT toric lenses. Lenses and temple are the same material and guarantee highest flexibility. The chic double E-logo enamel emblem has the same colour as the sunglasses, available in six different colour combinations such as lavender, green, peach and turquoise.
CHOPARD 2006 SUNGLASSES COLLECTION
For women, Chopard offers Happy Spirit, Golden Diamond, Ice Cube and Happy Sport collections, while the men’s models are more sober.
Collection for Women
Happy Spirit: The Happy Spirit pattern, plain or studded with light spots, stands out along the slender temples of the rimless models. The slender 23ct gold-plated frame lights up through reflections, while the lenses come in coral, blue, green, lilac and brown. The Happy Spirit pattern develops around the end pieces of large masks, creating a contrast between the full acetate frame and the clear spaces contoured by stylish rims. The fork temples are enhanced by full brand lettering, studded with light spots.
Golden Diamond: Glasses are said to be cut like diamonds. Acetate or metal front pieces, end pieces and temples are worked with multi-faceted and three-dimensional details reminiscent of diamonds. Light spots illuminate the sunglasses, while temples blend with the colour of the lenses. Wide masks and striped acetate models are enhanced by the elegant C of the Chopard logo. Shades of grey, beige, red and blue act as the background to the large logo dotted with light spots.
Ice Cube: Chopard’s Ice Cubes are said to shimmer along the temples and end pieces, jutting out over the lenses to create sophisticated, glittering profiles. The large oval or rectangular front pieces create a retro look.
Happy Sport: The brand’s exuberant style is reflected in models that combine gem-studded bridges with rubber temples and discreet aviator lenses. Shades of green, pink, purple, burgundy and lilac dominate lenses and frames.
Model SCH 532S: This metal model comes in a slightly squared-off wraparound shape. The Happy Spirit symbol and Chopard logo, lit up by light spots, adorn the insides of the open temples. NXT lenses are fastened to the front by hidden hooks, resulting in a clean, linear design. Classic shades of metal – gold, red gold, palladium and black – combine with brown, green, pink, purple and smoke-coloured mirrored lenses.
Model 536S: These glasses are characterised by a rimmed mask with discreet aviator lenses, injected temples in the bright rubberised hues of the Happy Sport line, and light spots brightening up the top bar. Available in palladium, with purple or red shaded mirror lenses.
Model 012S: Glasses characterised by a plastic mask of a feminine, slightly cat-like wraparound shape. The temples join with the linear and modern frame front by metal end pieces in the shape of the Happy Spirit symbol, customised with the engraved Chopard logo and also available studded with light spots. The frame comes in black, brown, white, fuchsia and green, to match the smoke, brown, light grey or purple mask.
Collection for Men
For men, the sunglasses are described as having cutting-edge technical and functional characteristics. Polarising and photochromatic NXT lenses ensure top viewing comfort, while linear, clean designs are used. Small and rectangular front pieces – larger in the double-bridged model – are often made of light and luminous 23ct gold-plated metal. A refined metal plaque features the Chopard logo placed along the temples.
Model SCH 542: These glasses boast a rimless structure and come in a classic, slightly squared-off shape. Levels of comfort in line with the optical quality of the NXT Polarised Photocromatic lenses are ensured by end pieces of elegant and linear design enclosing a hidden flex hinge. Classic brown, smoke and grey/green lenses combine with 23ct gold-plated metal details in shades of pink gold, palladium and ruthenium.
GIVENCHY 2006 SUNGLASSES COLLECTION
Collection for Women
Designed by Riccardo Tisci, the sunglasses are described as refined and functional. The 4G logo and logomania, symbols of the fashion house, take shape on the temples and the endpieces through the use of relief decorations and laser engraved details. The metal or plastic logo, often decorated with rhinestone crystals, coloured enamel and studs, is highlighted through a play of volumes and colours. Large, striking oval shapes contrast small and narrow rectangles where metal combines with acetate, highlighting the strong lines of the fronts and endpieces. Volume is all-important.
Model SGV 180: This model combines a metal front piece and acetate temples. Its feminine shape is underlined by an unusual double-circle structure, highlighted by tone-on-tone metallic colours: gold/brown, gunmetal/black, blue/blue, gold/ivory. NXT lenses are available in tones of brown, smoke grey and grey/blue.
Model SGV 162: This model’s feminine, oval metal frame is characterised by a metal structure with coloured details that brighten the upper bridge and fork-like temples. The nylon lenses, fixed by invisible hooks, reveal the metallic rear structure, creating a play of shade. Colours such as palladium metal and teak combine with lenses shaded smoke grey, turquoise and purple.
Model SGV 573S: This slightly rectangular, injected model is described as highly feminine. The toric lenses and fork-like temples give an enveloping and slender structure. The glasses are personalised with a lateral metal design of the 4G logo, adorned with a shower of rhinestones and enamel details. Injections of black, white, brown and pink combine with classic lenses, either single-toned or shaded smoke grey and brown.
Collection for Men
Givenchy sunglasses discreetly reveal small decorative details on the temples. Acetate and metal pilot models, as well as rectangular styles are available. The logo, with small Paris points, lies along the temple. Ozwald Boateng has created an elegant and confident collection, which lights up with the glowing colours of summer: light brown, bordeaux red, blue, green and honey yellow.
Model SGV 177: This masculine, slightly enveloping metal model is reminiscent of the glasses once worn by aviators. The glasses, which boast a double-bridge structure, is characterised by a metal design of the Givenchy logo, engraved and placed on the external side of the temple. Classic colours such as palladium metal, gunmetal, black and bronze combine with grey and brown polarising lenses and grey and green polycarbonate lenses.
