Puig unveils inaugural masculine fragrance from the house of Valentino

Puig has unveiled its inaugural men’s fragrance from Italian fashion house Valentino. The scent, called simply Valentino Uomo, (uomo means “˜man’ in Italian) has been earmarked as a key new pillar for the brand, alongside the feminine flagship fragrance Valentina, which was launched in 2011.

The face of the fragrance is actor Louis Garrel. The TV campaign, shot in Rome, was directed by Johan Renck; the print campaign was photographed by David Sims. The former aims to evoke a cinematographic atmosphere, and showcases the city’s iconic architecture and monuments.

The Valentino Uomo juice, described as light, classic and unique, was composed by Olivier Polge. The key ingredients include bergamot, myrtle, coffee, gianduja cream, white leather, cedar and woods.

The glass fragrance flacon, reminiscent of a bottle of fine liqueur, reveals the amber liquid within. The surface is embellished with stud-like prisms, designed to evoke the ashlar bricks of a Roman palazzo. A metal plaque engraved with the Valentino name adorns the front. The outer carton sports a black label trimmed in gold.
