The new Broadband Sparkling Chic models took pride of place on Axcent’s stand at TFWA World Exhibition at Cannes

SWEDEN. Axcent of Scandinavia has announced the appointment of Swiss firm Niclas as its representative in the European travel retail sector.

The company is also wowing buyers with its unusual range of eye-catching watch designs.

“Axcent is the most successful watch brand ever listed onboard Iceland Express,” said Marketing and PR Manager Zara Dahlback. “In the first two days, we sold the entire stock.”

Since the listing began on September 18, sales on Iceland Express have exceeded 600 pieces.

Axcent is also the number one watch brand on SAS Flightshop, where it has been sold for two years. The airline boosted its listings from May 2004 to include one women’s and one men’s watch. Previously the operator carried only a men’s model.

Other good duty-free outlets for the brand include Bologna airport, which sold more than 50 pieces in one week, and Miami-based Caribbean cruiseline Starboard Cruise Services. Axcent recently began trading at the Dubai Duty Free watch counter.

As well as showcasing the new Broadband Sparkling Chic model, which took pride of place on the company’s stand at TFWA World Exhibition at Cannes, Axcent also showed its new floor display in white and orange. The merchandising unit holds between 80 and 100 pieces.

Also on display was a watch set comprising a watch with a second strap in a slim orange gift box.

Axcent watches are sold in 50 countries and have just been launched in Thailand via the distributor Time Planet Co and the Philippines through Newtrends International Corp.
