QATAR. Qatar Airways has announced its new status as the Official Airline Sponsor of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), pledging to support efforts towards cancer prevention and control. The announcement comes on the 20th anniversary of World Cancer Day.
The UICC is a non-governmental membership-based organisation focused on initiatives that unite and support the cancer community to ensure cancer control continues to be a priority in world health.

The airline has a substantial track record in supporting cancer awareness initiatives. For the last three years, it showed its support for the global campaign ‘Think Pink’ during Breast Cancer Awareness month with limited edition amenity kits on flights and an all-female crew on a flight from Doha to Zürich.
In October 2019, the airline partnered with Hamad International Airport (HIA), Qatar Aviation Services and Qatar Duty Free to support the campaign with a range of awareness events. Activities included a series of lectures for staff from the Qatar Cancer Society at HIA, along with awareness workshops, free mammogram screening by qualified medical staff for all eligible employees, and Charity Bazaar fundraising events at a variety of Qatar Airways locations.
