HUNGARY. Qatar Airways has joined the ranks of sponsors for the BUD Runway Run at Budapest Airport on 3 September.
The event, organised by Budapest Airport in association with news and analysis website anna.aero, invites employees from airlines, airports and aviation enterprises to run on runway 13R-31L to raise money for cancer charities and other child-focused causes.
“Golden Cake Trophies” include Fastest Airport Concessionaire Team, won by a Gebr Heinemann team in 2015, and The Fastest Airline in the World.
All participants will receive ‘The Bron’s Medal’, named after Brontë “Bron” Hogan, the 12-year-old daughter of anna.aero Publisher Paul Hogan. Courageous Brontë passed away in 2011 after a five-year battle with leukaemia.
