Qatar Airways Premium Terminal wins advertising accolade

SINGAPORE. Qatar Airways’ advertisement for its Premium Terminal at Doha International Airport has won a Phoenix Award for its creativity and professional quality.

The Phoenix Awards is an annual event organised by AdAsia, a leading magazine for the advertising and marketing industry. It judges the creativity and professional skills in the production of films, video and digital images for advertising and promotional purposes.

Endorsed by the Association of Independent Television Companies in Singapore, the Australian Cinematographers Society, and the Institute of Advertising in Singapore, the awards event provides individuals and organisations with key industry recognition within the Asia Pacific region.

Qatar Airways was the only airline winner at the Phoenix Awards 2009, collecting the accolade in the Travel/Holidays/Airlines category.

Lounge is part of a trilogy of advertisements produced by Qatar Airways which includes “˜Journey’ – an advertisement that highlights key points on the airline’s route network – and “˜Appetiser’ – a commercial that blends the ambience and style of the airline’s award-winning food and inflight service offering.

All three advertisements have been broadcast across top international channels in English, Arabic and several other languages. The TV ads form part of an extensive brand campaign that incorporates print, TV, radio, and digital media.

Qatar Airways’ award for the 2009 competition enhances the reputation of the airline’s Premium Terminal, which opened at Doha International Airport in November 2006. It is the world’s first dedicated terminal facility catering exclusively to First and Business Class passengers.

The Premium Terminal’s First Class lounge includes amenities such as bedrooms, spa treatments, sauna and Jacuzzis. Additional features available to all passengers include a 24-hour business centre, medical clinic, games room and nursery as well as duty free shopping.
