The Moodie Davitt Report Chairman Martin Moodie dined at The Harrods Tea Rooms Doha last week and was given a warm welcome by the Harrods’ ‘Green Men’ doormen

The Harrods Tea Rooms Doha menu includes finger sandwiches, freshly-baked scones and ‘picture-perfect’ pastries, all made by Harrods’ world-class chefs. The chefs have collaborated across continents to create a patisserie menu inspired by the heritage of afternoon tea. Pastries include Custard Cream and Cherry Bakewell.

The Harrods Tea Rooms Doha’s architecture and décor is designed to emulate the rich history and heritage of Harrods in Knightsbridge.

Inspired by the London store’s Art Deco interiors from the early 1900s, the detailed marbles and coloured fabrics at The Harrods Tea Rooms Doha echo the “sense of intrigue, luxury and excitement”.

The Art Deco theme continues in the design of the staircase, which references the original 1930s interiors of the Knightsbridge store.

The tiles alongside the grand staircase are inspired by colourful peacocks; a symbol of beauty, power and immortality, which can be seen spreading their tail feathers feature in the tiling of Harrods Food Halls in Knightsbridge.

Harrods’ ‘Green Men’ doormen – renowned for their courtesy, helpfulness and efficiency – have been greeting guests at the Knightsbridge store since the early 1900s. This legacy will be continued at The Harrods Tea Rooms Doha.

“Intrigue, luxury and excitement” and a whole lot of history are on offer inside Doha’s latest hot dining spot

Harrods has been inviting its customers to enjoy its afternoon tea since 1911, when The Georgian Restaurant opened on the fourth floor of the Knightsbridge store. Since then, every detail has been meticulously perfected to give guests the “ultimate afternoon tea experience that Harrods is celebrated for”.

Harrods Tea Rooms around the world each have their own design and identity, inspired by the local culture of the destination.

The Harrods Tea Rooms Doha aims to bring a “taste of Harrods all the way to the heart of Doha”.
