QATAR. Qatar Duty Free (QDF) and Italian gourmet chocolate house Venchi partnered for a high-profile campaign at Hamad International Airport (HIA) to mark World Chocolate Day (7 July), with strong sales results.
A full branded airport takeover included an engaging digital communication campaign on over 800 screens and a wide social media presence. Travellers also enjoyed a special -20% offer on all Venchi products in the main store and at the standalone Venchi boutique.
An additional cross-sell line was created specifically for the campaign, offering passengers the opportunity to purchase either 100g or 200g bundles as last-minute gifts.
The campaign delivered strong results and exceeded expectations, said the partners. In three days, sales value increased by +633% week on week and the brand’s ranking within the food & confectionery category moved up more than 40 spots during World Chocolate Day.
The Venchi store in the Central Concourse also benefited from the campaign, driving close to a +100% increase in sales. The Italian chocolate house showcases a variety of signature chocolate and ice creams, including 16 gelato flavours served in gourmet cones or cups and coated with chocolates from the suprema chocolate fountain.
